Special Notice for New Submissions
All manuscripts that will appear in the remaining issues of JCSD's 2008 volume year have now been determined. On August 1, 2008, Professor John M. Braxton of Vanderbilt University will assume the editorship of JCSD. He and his editorial team will determine contents of subsequent JCSD issues, beginning with Jan-Feb 2009. Between now and August 1, manuscripts may be submitted to JCSD via Editorial Manager, and the manuscript review process (which takes approximately six weeks) will be initiated. However, editorial decisions following the review process will be made by the new team of editors beginning this fall. Additionally, editorial decisions on manuscripts currently under review with JCSD will be made by the new team of editors. As a consequence, the review process will take longer than the typical six weeks.
We apologize in advance for these transitional delays, and we thank you for your understanding. If you have questions, please contact Adam Brigham, Publications Coordinator, at . Thank you very much for your interest in JCSD and for your patience during the editorial transition period.

JCSD articles are indexed in: Education Index, Higher Education Abstracts, Current Index to Journals in Education, Educational Administration Abstracts, Current Contents, Psychological Abstracts, Social and Behavioral Sciences, Social Sciences Citation Index, Social Work Research and Abstracts, Research Alert, and Social SciSearch. The American College Personnel Association (ACPA) created JCSD in 1959 and has continued to support JCSD as ACPA's major research publication. Charles L. Lewis served as the first editor of JCSD (then known as the Journal of College Student Personnel) from 1959 through 1964. Including the current editor, there have been eight editors and 17 associate editors.
The Journal receives over 250 full-length manuscript submissions per year and currently accepts for publication approximately 10-15% of the submissions. JCSD receives national and international manuscript submissions from a wide range of academic fields including student affairs, higher education, sociology, psychology, social work, nursing, business administration, and health sciences. Submissions to the Journal are "masked" for anonymity (please refer to the Submissions link and the Guidelines for Authors) and reviewed by at least two Editorial Board members and the Editor. Approximately 40 Editorial Board members with extensive expertise and experience in a number of fields review manuscripts for JCSD. Board members are chosen for three-year terms through a nomination and application process. The ACPA Executive Board selects the JCSD Editor using a nomination and application process. Board members, editors, consultants, and administrative assistants volunteer their time and skills to facilitate the publication of JCSD.
